How do I log in to eLearning?

How do I take exams?

Many courses that use eLearning will have quizzes or exams at some point during the term. Some classes have more exams and quizzes than other classes. Is a demo class available?

Are there student fees associated with proctored exams?

Proctored exams on campus are free. ProctorU and testing centers charge both charge fees for proctoring exams. A ProctorU session costs $12 per 3-hour exam or $10 per 2-hour exam. Whether an online class has a proctored exam(s) or not is up to the discretion of the instructor.


What are online classes like?

Can I copy and paste from Word into a quiz or discussion forum area in the class?

What is eLearning?

eLearning is Golden Gate University’s online learning platform. Golden Gate University has been offering online courses since the late 1990s. Don't confuse eLearning, GGU's academic portal, with GGU4YOU (also known as the "Intranet") - the two are separate systems and might have different usernames and passwords depending on how the student/factuly memeber sets up their account.


Why can’t I see a class I registered for on my eLearning home page?

There are a few reasons why this might occur: Classes will not appear for students on eLearning until the first day of the term.  You will not see a class you registered for immediately appear on your eLearning page. How can I upload an image to my profile?

I'm an instructor with questions about proctored testing. Who should I contact?

I am a new student. When do I receive my username and password?

24-36 hours after registering for an eLearning course you’ll receive your official username and password via email. The username and password for GGU4YOU and eLearning are NOT connected. Tip: Many students set their eLearning password to be the same as their GGU4YOU password.


I have forgotten my username or password. What do I do?

I am a student, can I access my course before the first day of the term?

No, students cannot access the course before the first day of the term, however, while you wait for the first day you’re encouraged to take the Student Orientation that you’ll find on the left side of the eLearning site.


I need to change my email address, how do I do that?

Your email will need to be changed in 2 places within your GGU4YOU Profile. For instructions with screenshots please see “Student Orientation, Tips and Tutorials” on the left side of your eLearning home page, and then select “Changing your Email Address.”


Is an orientation available for new students?

I’m not getting the emails I want to get from my class, how do I fix that?

Make sure that the email you have on file in eLearning is current. Check to make sure your class email isn’t being blocked or diverted to a different folder (for instance the “Promotions” tab/folder in Gmail).
